The German manufacturer released photos and technical details of the new, fourth-generation X5 Previously, the third generation was in production only for 5 years. That is two years shorter than the first and second generation, which lasted 7 years each on the market. Compared to the predecessor, the new 2022 BMW X5 will be 1,5 inches longer and 2,5 inches wider. The SUV is also more spacious than before.

Four engines, two petrol mills and two diesel powertrains, will be available to customers around the world. The base gasoline version will be a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder that produces 340 hp (250 kW) and 330 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. That is a significant boost to 300 hp from the previous generation. Equipped with this aggregate, the 2022 BMW X5 will sprint from standstill to 60 mph in 5.5 sec. Top speed for this version is 150 mph.
Despite the current controversy over diesel engines, BMW has maintained two such aggregates, primarily due to customers in Europe. The base, 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder delivers 265 hp (195 kW) and 620 Nm (547 lb-ft) of maximum torque. The most powerful version on the European market, until the new X5 M comes, is the X5 M50d. A 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine with 4 turbochargers bursts over 400 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque.
2022 BMW X5 M.
Customers who want an even more powerful engine have the X5 xDrive50i motor. It is the well-known 2022 BMW X5 M version. A twin-turbo 4.4 V8 unit with 462 hp (350 kW) and 480 pound-feet of torque hit 60 mph in only 4.7 seconds. Here, max speed is 155 mph. This version will not be available on the European market.
The engine upgrade, this version will see the new equipment and features. We still don’t know exactly what to expect. Expect even more luxurious and elegant cabin.

The company will keep a 2.0-liter unit as the base for the configuration. New electric motors and other parts will make this system fuel-friendlier and more powerful.
