2024 Nissan Armada Redesign, Price, & Rumors. The 2024 Nissan Armada is the company’s largest SUV. It is available in the USA only. The last time it suffered big changes was in 2016.
Things in the full-size segment are not changing as fast as for compact crossovers. The new Armada will be unchanged. The Platinum model remains the top offer. The only question is if the SUV will get a diesel powertrain. Cosmetic changes will be small.
We can find a similar vehicle in the rest of the world. Nissan is selling it as Patrol SUV. Well, it is using the biggest petrol engine the Japanese company has to offer.
The styling is similar, but there are a lot of differences between Patrol and Armada so we can’t call them the same vehicle. Under the hood of the new SUV remains a 5.6-liter V8 engine as the only drivetrain. Speculations about a diesel unit are still unconfirmed.
2024 Nissan Armada vs Patrol
We already mentioned that the new 2024 Nissan Armada will be very similar to Patrol SUV available worldwide. Both models are using a 5.6-liter V8 as the main source of power. Patrol also offers a 4.0-l V6 as an alternative. The same Nissan F-Alpha platform is coming with 121 inches long wheelbase.
The body of the 2024 Armada will be longer (209 in compared to 203 in). It is also slightly wider, while the Patrol gains an extra inch for height. Ground clearance for both vehicles is 9 inches (230 mm).
V8 Engine Specs
A 5.6-liter engine is capable to produce 290 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. That is 10 horsepower more and 5 lb-ft less than its main rival’s Toyota Sequoia can do with a 5.7-l V8. Fuel consumption is not a strong side of this big rig. The 2024 Nissan Armada will use lighter materials in its body.
It will save some weight. The gas mileage won’t go over 20 mpg. That is the best record if you choose a rear-wheel drive and drive the SUV on the highway. Urban driving is consuming much more fuel. In the worst case, the SUV comes up with 13 mpg (AWD model). A seven-speed automatic transmission needs a replacement. Still, the SUV is very capable of hauling stuff. Its towing capacity is 8,500 pounds.
2024 Nissan Armada Diesel
Nissan’s only diesel engine that could fit the full-size SUV is a 5.0-l V8 we can find under the hood of Titan XD truck. This turbo mill can produce 310 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission routes power to all wheels. The new 2024 Nissan Armada diesel would gain many advantages from this drivetrain. Of all, the fuel economy could get a boost.
The towing capacity of the diesel unit is much better than with a petrol drivetrain. Well, the Cummins unit is definitely going to be a more expensive version. For the Titan XD truck, it adds around $6,000. Nissan Armada, with such an engine, can become a serious rival to the Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro model.
2024 Nissan Armada Features
Armada is a three-row SUV that offers eight seating spots. It will be available in four trim levels. The base one, Armada SV, comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlamps, and cruise control as standard features. The next trim level, SL, adds larger wheels (20-inches) and a power liftgate. Inside, there are more features and leather is covering the seats and steering wheel.
More infotainment features are coming with the 2024 Nissan Armada Platinum package. There is a three-zone entertaining system with 8-inch screens on headrests. A DVD player and wireless headphones are also part of this exclusive suite. Front seats are offering heating and cooling. The Platinum Reserve trim level adds some unique details. Its price is not too much above the standard Platinum model.
2024 Nissan Armada Release Date and Prices
The new 2024 Nissan Armada is still under development. We still can’t see spy photos of test mules on the streets. The company gave us hints about the vehicle, stating it is coming almost unchanged. The biggest update could happen under the hood. Having this in mind, we can guess the prices will remain the same.

The base MSRP will be under $50,000 even with the destination fee. All-wheel drive option boosts the cost by $3,000 for each trim level. SL model is around $54,000 and Platinum SUV starts above $62,000. The fully-loaded Platinum Reserve is the most expensive model in the lineup. With AWD on, it will come with a nearly $70,000 price tag.
Competition
The full-size SUV segment is not as crowded as some other categories. The major competitor for the 2024 Nissan Armada will be Toyota Sequoia. Honda is not building a full-size model. Ford has Expedition, while Chevy Suburban/and Tahoe are GM’s models. Hyundai is also stepping into this market with the Palisade. A close sibling to Armada is Infiniti QX80. The premium SUV is going to use the new platform called Monograph Concept. Nissan’s big rig could take benefit from the new design and architecture.
